VERDE PLACE
Arroyo Grande, CA

Our clients, a young couple with two small children, relocated to California and purchased a 1970s fixer-upper in Arroyo Grande. Their hope was to replace the existing garage with a new guest suite and garage at the 1st floor and a 2 bd, 1 bath ADU at the 2nd floor. With a tight budget and significant scope of work, it proved challenging to find a contractor who could to do the work affordably. Rather than reduce scope, the owners chose a builder willing to construct a “white box” that they could finish themselves. Francisco Mendez and his team were a perfect fit for the job. They built the two story structure, roofed, plastered, painted, then left the remaining work for the owners to complete.

For months, our clients kept busy laying flooring, building and installing cabinets, wallpapering, painting, and adding new landscaping. The end result is a light filled and spacious rentable dwelling with a private stair and deck.  The private 1st floor guest suite is also complete and ready for visiting relatives to enjoy.
